Our Wedding

We first met on the dating app Hinge, though it’s likely our paths had crossed before. As we got to know each other, we discovered we had both attended the same church for a while—Kyle had even served as an usher there. From the very beginning, our conversations were thoughtful and deep. Filled with long messages and meaningful questions, as we both knew what we were looking for in a partner. It didn’t take long for us to realize we’d found something truly special.Since then, we’ve shared countless laughs, adventures, and cherished memories—from traveling around California to exploring hidden gems around Sacramento. We’ve bonded over our mutual love for God, literature, theater, and the joy of international travel.On September 1st, Kyle planned a magical proposal under the Golden Gate Bridge during a long weekend getaway. It was an unforgettable moment, filled with love and excitement for our future.We’re overjoyed to begin this next chapter together and can’t wait to celebrate our wedding day with all of you. Your love and support mean the world to us, and we’re so grateful to have you as part of our big day!

Hawwi was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Immigrated with parents and younger brother when she was 3 years old. She grew up mostly in Sacramento before earning a BA in English from SJSU. She earned her Master’s degree in Public Administration from CSUN and has built a career in social services. Worked in numerous nonprofits and currently works with Integrated Care in Kaiser Permanente. In her free time, Hawwi enjoys writing, binge-watching shows and spending time with friends and family. She is thrilled to start this new journey with Kyle, looking forward to a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

The Bride

Kyle was born in Sacramento and grew up in Yuba City. As a child, he spent his summers performing in local theater productions and working on his family’s organic fruit farm. Following high school, Kyle earned his B.A. in Cinema from San Francisco State University. After completing a few internships in the field, Kyle set out to travel the world and found his true passion in the field of Education. He earned a teaching credential and currently works as an English teacher in Elk Grove. Apart from educating young minds, Kyle enjoys reading, watching movies and playing the drums. He is incredibly grateful to God for bringing him the love of his life in Hawwi and is looking forward to spending forever with her by his side.

Honeymoon 

Neither of us had ever been on a cruise and we wanted to experience it together on a Carribean adventure. Once we saw the itinerary, it wasn't a hard choice to make since international travel is a shared passion of ours. Instead of gifts, we decided to go with the growing trend of a honeymoon fund for anyone who wants to contribute to this once in a lifetime experience. We are so excited to kick off newlywed life in such beautiful and culturally rich places.
